COLLABORATIVE FAMILY LAW LAWYER

 

I have extensive experience in all aspects of family law, including legal separation, divorce, custody, access, child and spousal support, division of family property and collaborative law.

 

I was called to the Bar in 1984. My primary area of practice is Family Law, which includes separation and divorce, custody, access, child and spousal support and division of family property. I have practiced for many years as a general practitioner and have extensive experience in all areas of law. Since 2012, I have restricted my family law practice to the resolution of family law conflict by negotiation, utilizing the Collaborative Practice process.

 

I am a member of the Board of Directors of Collaborative Practice Durham Region, a member of the Collaborative Practice Toronto (CPT), Kawartha Haliburton Collaborative Practice, a member of International Association of Collaborative Professionals (IACP), a member of the Canadian Bar Association (CBAO) and the Durham Region Law Association (DRLA).

 

In February, 2010, I was appointed as a Dispute Resolution Officer in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Oshawa.

 

I have been involved in coaching Basketball within the YMCA League and House League Hockey and continue to enjoy playing hockey, cycling, travel and baking.

After graduating from Durham College in 1984, in the Legal Secretarial Program, I commenced my employment with Brian S. Korb and have been so employed since September 1985. I have clerical and legal skills in all aspects of Family Law.

 

I am married, and a mother to three beautiful young women. I enjoy horseback riding, skiing, soccer and spending time with my family.

 

I am also the founder and organizer of the Mitchell Fraser Memorial Slo-Pitch Tournament. This tournament was started in memory of my son, Mitchell, who lost his eight month battle with a form of childhood cancer known as Neuroblastoma on New Year's Eve 2001. The funds that we raise are done so in support of Neuroblastoma Research at SickKids Hospital in Toronto. We have held this tournament since 2002 and over that time, we have raised over $215,000.00.
